“Yandex.Food” in the case of user data leakage received the status of the victim. The official investigation is still ongoing. This was reported to RIA Novosti by a company representative.
The service’s user data came into general access at the end of February 2022. The company then contacted all users affected by the leak. Yandex.Food representatives contacted law enforcement agencies.
In March, Yandex.Food customers filed a class action lawsuit over a data breach with the Moscow Zamoskvoretsky District Court. They demand 100,000 rubles in compensation for each.
The lawyers called the satisfaction of claims of 100 thousand rubles for each applicant an “unlikely scenario.” According to Igor Noskov, managing partner of Bashilov, Noskov & Partners, the average amount of compensation for this category of cases ranges from 500 to 3,000 rubles.
