August 12 is up Prime Video the series Your own competitionThis is the remake of Girls Winning, a 1992 feature film starring Tom Hanks and Madonna. The trailer for the show has been released online and will be available on the streaming platform soon.

According to Prime Video’s description, this series will evoke the spirit of Penny Marshall’s cult film and try again to tell the story of an entire generation of women who have dreamed of playing professional baseball. The show will also delve deeper into issues of race and sexuality, following the path of a new cast of characters who will find their way both on and off the field.
To carry out this project, Amazon teamed up with Sony Pictures. The feature film stars D’Arcy Carden, Kelly McCormack, Chante Adams, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Roberta Colindrez and Priscilla Delgado. And there will also be Kate Berlant, Melanie Field and Molly Ephraim.
Vernon Sanders of Amazon Studios said that “this series reinvents a cult film for a new generation”.
