Chris Evans consider his experience as Captain America as a closed chapter of his career, which is why he wanted to repeat it in the podcast D23 Magazine, Disney’s official fan club. The actor claims to have left the shield in the hands of Anthony Mackie permanently.

Here are his words:

I don’t think I will come back. I can say it was a fantastic journey, and putting on the character’s shoes was a precious thing. But the point is, that part is no longer mine, Anthony Mackie now. Maybe if you could re-enter as a different character, but as far as Steve Rogers is concerned, I’d be very careful, and this is precisely because I love that part of my professional life. If you don’t rethink that kind of legacy in the right way, it would be shocking. We should be perfect, and we might not succeed after all.

Meanwhile, the Russo brothers have been talking about what role Chris Evans might be suited for in the Marvel universe, outside of Captain America. This is what they said:

If we were to give Chris Evans another role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we would choose Wolverine. He has a great physique and a great ability to control his body. Chris is an incredible actor, so we don’t mean that in a negative way, but there’s nothing better for him than the role of Captain America. Steve Rogers can control himself, and he’s silent. Chris, on the other hand, has a lot of energy, is fun and charismatic. He is able to transfer a lot of energy on the set. It would be nice to see him as Wolverine.
