Disney+ has released key art and new photos from its first British original series, the romantic action comedy wedding season. The eight-episode series will debut exclusively on the streaming platform on September 8, marking Disney+ Day, on Disney+ worldwide, on Star+ in Latin America and on Hulu in the United States.

The captivating series tells the story of Katie and Stefan who fall in love during a wedding and begin a relationship, despite Katie already having a boyfriend. Two months later, at Katie’s wedding, her new husband and his entire family are murdered. The police think it was Stefan. Stefan thinks it was Katie. And no one knows for sure what the truth is…

An action-packed journey across the UK and US as Katie and Stefan run away in an attempt to prove their innocence. Starring Rosa Salazar and Gavin Drea, with Jade Harrison, Jamie Michie, Callie Cooke, Bhav Joshi, Ioanna Kimbrook, Omar Baroud and George Webster.

The series was created by Oliver Lyttelton (Cheaters – Betrayals), an emerging talent of the screenplay, who is also an executive producer and is directed by George Kane (Crashing) and Laura Scrivano (The Lazarus Project). Produced by Dancing Ledge Productions (The Responder, The Salisbury Poisonings), with executive producers Chris Carey, Laurence Bowen and Toby Bruce, and by Jax Media (Russian Doll, Emily in Paris), with Brooke Posch, Lilly Burns and Tony Hernandez in the executive producer role along with Johanna Devereaux, executive producer for Disney+.

Wedding Season debuts alongside new content announced for Disney + Day from the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Star brands.
Disney+ will make 60 local productions by 2024, while continuing to partner with world-class creators and producers as part of the company’s commitment to invent, develop and create original productions in Europe.
