The Locarno Film Festival 75, marked by the anniversary of the event and by numerous special initiatives, is approaching its end. The Golden Leopard is awarded to: Regra 34 (Line 34) by Julia Murat, who will be delivered in Piazza Grande tonight during the closing ceremony. The Special Jury Prize goes to the Italian film Gigi the law by Alessandro Comodin.
Locarno75 was an eleven-day celebration: this is the atmosphere that has breathed in the city since August 3, in Piazza Grande and in the halls, where the surprising participation of spectators and spectators has given a tangible sign of the renewed desire to meet .
Between 226 films on the program and 471 screenings, the festive edition brought together the past and the future of cinema, thanks to the Retrospective dedicated to Douglas Sirk, the prizes awarded to veterans such as Costa-Gavras and beautiful promises such as Daisy Edgar -Jones, based on the poetic animation of Gitanjali Rao, accompanied on stage by the young participants of the Atelier du Futur and on projects that look at multidisciplinarity and new media. The opening with Bullet Train and the closing with Alles über Martin Suter. Ausser die Wahrheit inaugurates Piazza Grande as a privileged location for visions of major national and international premieres.
The Artistic Director Giona A. Nazzaro stated:
An important Golden Leopard for a cinematography like the Brazilian that has written important pages in the history of world cinema. A cinema at the forefront of defending an idea of a more inclusive and free world. Regra 34 brings Brazilian cinema back to the anarchic glory of ‘marginal cinema’. A bold and political work that will leave an important mark. The body is political.
Here are all the winners.
