With 104 million views, the Little Mermaid teaser trailer outperforms other Disney live-action films such as Cruella (68 million), Beauty and the Beast (94), Alladin (74) and Maleficient 2 (62). The overall picture is obtained by adding up the data from YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok and Instagram. Recall that the teaser trailer of The Little Mermaid was presented during the D23 Expo and immediately launched on the internet.

The film stars are Halle Bailey (Grown-ish) who leads a cast consisting of Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) who will play Ariel’s father, Daveed Diggs (Hamilton) who will play the voice of Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay (Luca ) will be the voice of Bot, Awkwafina (Shang-Chi) will lend her voice to Scuttle, Jonah Hauer-King (Little Women) will be the Prince Eric, and Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids) will be the evil Ursula.

Marshall will co-produce with John DeLuca (Into the Woods), Marc Platt (La La Land, Dear Evan Hansen), and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton).

The Little Mermaid feature is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 26, 2023.
