Francis Ford Coppola completed the cast of megapolis, the epic drama that represents one of his greatest projects. Shooting will begin in the fall in Georgia. Among the new names in the feature are Chloe Fineman, Isabelle Kusman who has already appeared in Licorice Pizza, DB Sweeney, Bailey Ives and the popular Dustin Hoffman.
The cast of Megalopolis already sees Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker and Nathalie Emmanuel in attendance who will be the main protagonists. Other cast members include Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Talia Shire, Shia LaBeouf, Jason Schwartzman, Grace Vanderwaal, Kathryn Hunter, Aubrey Plaza and James Remar.
Megalopolis was presented as a $100 million project. Francis Ford Coppola himself said of the film:
I can say that doing this kind of work is like a war of religion for me, because I’m still here, with the same enthusiasm I had 20 or 40 years ago. I still want to create dreams on film, even at the cost of my own money. I wouldn’t want to, but I would if I had to. I would like to make this film in the fall of 2022. I haven’t finished all the cast yet, but I have enough names to say it’s exciting.
