Flash marks a reboot of the DC Extended Universe led by James Gunn. While early critical reactions are positive, the film was one of the most controversial recent years. The Ezra Miller scandals have put the production in jeopardy, and one of his mates on the set spoke about it today.
Michael Shannonwho reprises his role as General Zod in Flash, showed sympathy for the situation in which Ezra Miller found himself. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the actor stated that he was aware of the problems in the production, although he did not spend time investigating. However, the relationship between them was more than cordial and can only be described with good adjectives.
Ezra was nice, very nice to me when I was there. It’s hard to talk about it, but I always give people slack in this business because there are a lot of people in the middle who have problems. Every time someone is in the spotlight, they get bullied, I feel sorry for them. Even if it’s justified, it’s still a terrible situation.
Michael Shannon
The important question is that Michael Shannon was not involved at the level he was in man of Steel. “It was a completely different experience than man of Steelthose were months and months of my life, almost a year, given the training we did before filming,” he said. FlashI was in and out in a couple of weeks,” he said.
The relationship with Zack Snyder was also decisive. Shannon he was uncomfortable playing General Zod again unless approved by the director. Snyder blessed him, and the rest is history.
Flash could be the big surprise of the year
For months now, many fans of DC and superhero movies have been thinking that Warner Bros. will cancel Flash. Ezra Miller’s issues, which threatened to send him to jail for assault and robbery, have been in the headlines since 2020. However, the studio stood by the actor, who apologized for his behavior and acknowledged his mental health issues.
“Having recently gone through a period of major crisis, I now realize that I am suffering from complex mental health issues and have begun permanent treatment. I want to apologize to everyone I have disturbed and upset with my past behavior.. I am determined to do the work necessary to return to a healthy, safe and productive phase of my life.”
Ezra Miller
The film took on a larger role following the arrival of James Gunn and Peter Safran as the architects of the DC Extended Universe. In a video posted via his Twitter account, Gunn confessed his love for Flash and said that this is a fantastic movie that resets the entire DCEU. The tape is important as it will explore the phenomenon of the multiverse as we see it in the Marvel films.
With the Ezra Miller controversy over, Warner Bros is gearing up for one of the biggest releases of the summer. Flash will be released in theaters June 16, 2023. and this will be a litmus test for James Gunn and company.
