The death of Timothy Treadwell (46) and his girlfriend Amie Hugenard (37) went down in history due to the rough account that managed to record their deaths, When a brown bear attacked them in Katmai National Park, In Alaska, United States, in the summer of October 5, 2003.

Treadwell had spent more than 13 years dedicating his life to the care and protection of wildlife, especially the animal that eventually took its own life. He “loved” them, as he confessed many times. He felt that his purpose in life was to protect them, and so he decided to live with them in the wild.

Throughout his life as an ecologist, he has precisely recorded all the movements, movements, habitats, foraging, hibernation and even fights of these specimens in the nature reserve.

In front of the camera, he said that Timothy, who is claimed to have a personality disorder, really felt like another bear. “Look at me, how much I love bears, how I respect them, how I am one of them.”

He believed that he knew each individual, understood their feelings, and became his friend. Most of the footage he recorded was used by director Werner Herzog, who released a documentary about his life called Grizzly Man in 2005.

“There are times when my life is on the verge of death. These bears can bite and kill. And if I’m weak, I lose. I love bears with all my heart. I will protect them and die for them. But I will not die from your claws and claws. I will fight and I will be strong. I will be one of them. I will be the master,” the environmentalist said in one of his many moments when he felt in control of what was going on.

Timothy had tried to do that as an actor in Hollywood before getting a close look at grizzly wildlife, but his career never took off. He placed second in an audition for a television show, and his “failure” in the attempt devastated him.

She started working as a waitress and over the years her addiction to alcohol and drugs became unbearable. until he had an almost fatal overdose.

He had an enlightenment at that moment. He discovered the “Land of the Bears” and believed he had to heal himself in order to be saved.

“The bears needed someone to take care of them, but not a messy one. So I promised the bears that I would take care of them and help me be a better person.with. They were an inspiration. I was able to quit drinking. It was a miracle,” he said.

He had finally found comfort in his life, as well as a mission, and he believed that he was the only one who could save the grizzly bears living in remote Alaska from poachers.

“I would die for these animals. Thanks to these animals, I have a life that I never had before” As tears begin to fill his eyes, he is heard singing in a recording.

After spending more than a decade researching the behavior of bears, he gradually lost his fear of them and approached each time so that he could record them. According to some documentaries, he began to disrespect the security space.

Timothy followed them to approach and touch them.. He thought he had managed to connect and interact with them.

Some who knew him and worked with him claimed that Timothy behaved as if bears were not wild animals but people in costumes. His hypersensitivity to nature made him cry when he found a dead animal.. He talked to the corpses, caressed them and said heartfelt words recorded by his camera.

When asked how he was encouraged to live with wild animals, he replied, “They are misunderstood.” When asked what he would do if he was attacked by one of them, he repeated, “I would never kill a bear in self-defense.”

Treadwell and Hugenard’s cries of anguish and despair were captured on a video camera they found, otherwise the images it could have captured were comparable to any graphic horror movie.

Timothy’s constant mistakes made him easy prey for hungry bears.which is about to go into hibernation after the end of summer. Exactly two days before they died, both had witnessed the brutal struggle for prey between two grizzly bears.

“I’m a little worried, especially after watching the fight the other day. I still love them. (…) We’ll be leaving in a few days and we have to make sure we film everything we need. I can see the sadness in Tim’s eyes when he talks about leaving.. He really belongs here, this is his home,” Amie told the camera.

“He is one of them and he understands them.(…) Sometimes I feel like he loves them more than me and that’s okay with me. These bears are his family. I hope he can deal with the depression that comes with breaking up with them after another successful summer.” adds.
