The scientists conducted a study involving 100 patients diagnosed with clinical migraine – chronic or episodic. As a result, more than 50% of respondents said positively that their headache attack was caused by the smell of perfume. The rest of the patients said that the development of migraine was affected by the smell of tobacco, sweat, garbage, fabric softener, hair care products, gasoline.

Regarding the locations, the participants said that the headaches started mostly in shopping malls, restaurants, offices, hospital waiting rooms and trains.
