The owner of Gloria Jeans, Vladimir Melnikov, paid 1 million rubles each employees who have been working at the company for more than 10 years follows from Melnikov’s letters to Gloria Jeans employees. Forbes refers to the documents, their authenticity was confirmed by the company.

The owner of Gloria Jeans paid 1 million rubles to each of the employees with more than 10 years of experience in the company.

Employees who have worked at Gloria Jeans for more than 10 years, 2527 people – almost 17% of the total workforce.

In the first letter, Melnikov thanked those who “despite everything, gave so many years of their lives to the company.” “I want to say a sincere “thank you” to each one of you. In the next few days, all people whose work experience in the company (excluding the decree) is 10 years or more will receive 1,000,000 rubles after taxes,” the first letter reads.

The head of the company clarified that all employees with such experience can count on payment, regardless of the countries, legal entities and divisions in which they work.

“I promised God and myself to do it, but I never spoke of this promise in public. Those who received the money once gave Gloria Jeans an expensive gift. Now it is my turn to pay my debt to these people,” Melnikov explained in a letter.

In the second letter, the employer added that many of the employees received large cash payments and stressed that this was “not a bonus or a gift” and “is not about fairness or motivation.” Melnikov called the payment a debt to the people who have worked in the company for so many years.

Gloria Jeans operates more than 680 stores in Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. The beneficiary of the company is the Rostov businessman Vladimir Melnikov. Revenue of Gloria Jeans Corporation JSC in 2022 increased by 11.3% to 57.7 billion rubles, net profit – by 49.4% to 6.14 billion rubles.
