The VKontakte social network launched a Knowledge Base for Authors, which contains materials on community development, data on existing content creation tools, and recommendation algorithms.

“VKontakte” published a “Knowledge Base” for authors with tools, algorithms and rules of the social network.

VKontakte hopes that it will help novice authors to navigate the possibilities of the social network and experienced ones to find fresh information on new tools.

Materials are divided into several blocks:

  • The Community Building Block for Authors contains information on how to build and organize an audience, what type of community to choose for your goals, and what to consider before publishing. Also there you can get acquainted with all the tools for creating content on the platform: clips, stories, videos, articles, reports and others.
  • In the Audience Engagement section, creators will learn how they can promote their creativity using recommendation algorithms and advertising tools. For certain categories of authors, detailed tips have been compiled on how to create high-quality content and distribute it.
  • The third section is devoted to how VKontakte authors can earn. This block contains ways to monetize video and audio, an affiliate program, VK Donut, native advertising and others. Also in this section, authors will receive information on how to sell their products and offer services on the platform.

According to VKontakte’s own data, authors publish more than 6.3 billion materials every year. As of March 2023, the total number of active author audiences on the social network increased by 10% compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 2.06 million.
