This Wednesday (6), the developers of the Vivaldi browser released a major update to its users. The new version, simply numbered “5.2”, expands functions such as reading list and analysis of privacy statistics generated during usage sessions.
More specifically, the update now allows users to manage their reading lists via a dedicated section alongside favorite sites and other tools. Here you can also seamlessly rearrange, categorize, filter and search items. On top of that, all information can now be synchronized in the cloud, providing simultaneous access to other apps by logging into a Vivaldi account.
In terms of security and privacy, the update implements more detailed statistics of trackers and ads encountered during daily browsing. In addition to determining the number of detections, the scanner also makes it possible to analyze all the numbers obtained, organized by site or by the individual category of detected items.
On Android and Chromebook versions, Vivaldi 5.2 even offers an instant translation feature arranged in panels for “side-by-side” comparison in the two specified languages. The functionality is supported by the Lingvanex software, which is also available for other platforms.
