Cosmonaut Training Center named after Roskosmos and Yu.A. Gagarin announced the start of an open competition for the selection of cosmonaut candidates.
Any citizen of Russia under the age of 35 who meets a number of requirements can participate in it. That is, its weight should be between 50 and 90 kilograms with an increase of 150 to 190 centimeters. Shoe size should not exceed 46. A person must have no chronic diseases and have good physical fitness.
The cosmonaut candidate must have a higher education in flight engineering and scientific specialization and have at least three years of work experience in profile.
During the absentee election, the competition commission identifies the candidates who do not meet the eligibility criteria and notifies them of this situation by phone or mail. Those who pass the absentee selection will be invited to the CPC for an in-person selection to check compliance with the requirements.
Applicants to participate in the selection must send a package containing personal and medical documents to the competition commission. Applications and copies of documents are accepted until 30 October.
This is the fourth open selection for the Roscosmos cosmonaut corps, which currently has 26 people.
