About 40% of car owners in Russia are ready to use used parts to repair their cars in the near future. By 2023, a third of Russians will already have faced a shortage of spare parts. This is stated by the study “Auto Discovery” and the insurance company “Rosgosstrakh”, writes TASS.

Approximately 40% of car owners are willing to use used parts when repairing cars.

66% of respondents noted an increase in the price of components and machine maintenance costs, and 38% – an increase in the number of counterfeit parts.

Another third of car owners noted an increase in repair time, and another 28% complained about the deterioration in the quality of components. Over the past year, only 9% of those surveyed decided to use used parts when repairing their cars.

Against the background of problems with a shortage of original spare parts, 54% of Russians positively value the idea of creating an industry for the restoration of spare parts and repair of used parts within the framework of OSAGO. 36% reacted negatively to this idea. Of them, 21% are sure that it is not safe to repair cars with such spare parts, while the other 15% are sure that such car parts are less durable.

  • Almost half of Russian motorists increasingly began to refuse to travel around the city in their own car due to the expensive price of gasoline. They choose car sharing as an alternative: it is cheaper and more convenient for car owners.
