Sony Network Communications Inc. and Startale Labs Pte Ltd announced the start of a collaboration to create a new blockchain. The companies plan to build a global infrastructure that would stimulate the development of Web3 projects.

Sony confirmed the development of its own blockchain

An announcement of cooperation with Sony Network Communications Inc. appeared on the website of Startale Labs, developers of the Astar blockchain. Together, the companies plan to work on creating a new network that will become the basis for several different Web3 projects.

The statement says that in this partnership Sony will be responsible for developments in the field of Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, and Startale will be responsible for expertise in the field of blockchain. The capital of the joint venture in Singapore is 1 million SGD or approximately 733 thousand dollars, in addition it is known that Sony will own 90% of the shares and Startale 10%.

CEO of Startale Labs fixed on his Twitter that he believes in the success of the project. In his opinion, Sony’s blockchain has the potential to surpass the number of users developed by Coinbase, which was launched last month.

Startale Labs and Sony have worked together before: in February 2023, the companies launched an incubator for startups, the Web3 Incubation Program.
