The visa-free regime for Russians in Thailand has been extended to 90 days. The corresponding decree was signed by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom. The rule will go into effect on November 1. Previously, Russian citizens could stay in Thailand without a visa for only 30 days.

Prime Minister of Thailand Settha Thaweesin signed a decree extending the visa-free regime for Russian citizens to 90 days. This was reported by the Russian Consulate General in Phuket.

The new rule will enter into force on November 1, 2023 and will end on April 30, 2024.

“It is not possible to extend the period of stay or apply for a visa, for example, study, work, etc., while in Thailand with a 90-day stamp,” the Consulate General said.

Since the beginning of 2023, 977 thousand tourists from Russia have visited Thailand. At the end of 2022, the flow of Russian tourists to Thailand increased 14 times compared to 2021.
