There is a “terrible” shortage of IT specialists in the Russian labor market. Today, candidates immediately receive five to seven offers, with salary increases. Stanislav Bliznyuk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tinkoff, spoke about this at the Finopolis forum, his words were quoted by RBC.
The bank director noted that such a serious shortage of qualified specialists is a challenge for many companies.
This situation could have a long-term negative effect, says Bliznyuk. According to him, due to low competition, the quality of personnel is worsening. Specialists are not interested in upskilling and realize that “they will be hired with only a few solid skills anyway.”
According to Bliznyuk’s forecasts, Tinkoff will also face the same problem within three to five years. Today the bank has no problems with personnel.
In the summer, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev, estimated the shortage of IT specialists at 500,000 to 700,000 people. In total, the industry employs about 740 thousand people.
Rostelecom proposed a solution to the problem: the company intends to compensate for some of the missing personnel with technology. We are talking about the Lukomorye full-cycle software development platform.
