Alfa Bank plans to obtain a broker or management company license to access the Chinese stock market. This was reported by RBC with reference to the bank’s general director, Vladimir Verkhoshinsky.
“My guess is that out of a million of our corporate clients, at least 100,000 would be interested in working with China,” Verkhoshinsky said.
The organization’s top manager clarified that Alfa Bank hopes to open branches in China within two and a half years. The bank is already opening such stores in Shanghai and Beijing. To be able to offer customers a wider range of services, the bank needs branches in China, Verkhoshinsky said.
At the moment, only VTB has its branch in China. The organization inaugurated it in Shanghai in 2008.
