Russian car dealers RTDS Center and BN-Motors filed lawsuits against Renault in arbitration courts. The total amount of sanctions is 760 million rubles. This was reported by Vedomosti citing a representative of the Russian Association of Automobile Dealers (RoAD).
The RTDS Center’s application was submitted to the Moscow Arbitration Court in October and the amount of claims amounts to 534 million rubles – approximately 150 million rubles for the distribution center. In total, the company had four salons of the French brand. BN-Motors filed two lawsuits against Renault before the Arbitration Court of the Kaluga Region. The amount of claims on them is 228 million rubles.
According to Alexey Podshchekoldin, director of RoAD, at least 10 more dealers want to file claims against Renault. When they left Russia, the French brand was represented in the country by 152 dealers.
Renault suspended its industrial activities in Russia in March 2022. The carmaker then valued its business in Russia (the second largest market) at €2.2 billion. Last spring, the company’s assets became state property: the company’s stake in AvtoVAZ will belong to FSUE NAMI, and the Renault Russia plant will belong to Moscow. administration.
