Let’s figure out what expectations and reality we received.
1. Smoothed states of the body
Expectation: 9to5Mac reported that the border on the back is slightly rounded.
Reality: And so it happened. In the iPhone 15, the company slightly smoothed out the corners on the back of the smartphone, which makes it very comfortable to hold in the hand, and the body no longer “cuts” the palm.
2. iPhone 15 model numbers
Expectation: 9to5Mac reported that four iPhones will be released this year:

Expectation: Sources including Appleinsider.com have stated that the largest iPhone will be called iPhone 15 Ultra
Reality: In fact, the company called this model iPhone 15 Pro Max. The Ultra version was probably delayed until the release of the iPhone 16
4. Five body colors
Expectation: Insider Unknownz21 reported that the company tested the iPhone 15 in green, blue, yellow and orange, as well as several shades of pink and black. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus were expected to come in white, black, yellow, orange and blue colors.
Reality: Apple introduced iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus in blue, pink, yellow, green and black colors.
5. The process will become 24% more powerful
Expectation: An anonymous Weibo user published the first results of testing the A17 Bionic processor, according to which it is 24% more powerful than the A16 Bionic
Reality: in the process, the chip itself is called A17 Pro, and its power is 20-25% higher, which, in general, seems to be true
6. Memory capacities will change.
Expectation: an insider under the nickname yeux1122 reported that the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will be connected to 2 TB of memory, at least they will receive 256 GB
Reality: iPhone 15 received the same amounts of memory as in the previous generation: 128, 256, 512 GB and 1 TB, and in the Pro Max version the model with 128 GB was removed. TrendForce analysts guessed better with this in their forecasts
7. The light will change.
Expectation: yeux1122 said that the basic iPhone 15 has a Dynamic Island notch and 60 Hz backlight, but will not support Always-On-Display.
Reality: This line does indeed now feature a Dynamic Island notch and a 60Hz display, while Always-On-Display remains an exclusive mode of the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max.
8. Frames are assembled thinner
Expectation: 9to5Mac published renders of the iPhone 15 Pro, which has a smaller rubber frame
Reality: in fact, this is what happened, the battery frame decreased from 2.22 mm to 1.5 mm.
9. 48 MP camera across the entire line
Expectation: analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus in the original 48 MP camera are on par with the firmware
Reality: this is what happened, now the entire iPhone 15 line has a 48 MP main module, but in the firmware it has been slightly modified
10. Periscopic camera in iPhone 15 Pro Max
Expectation: an insider with the nickname @URedditor reported that the top iPhone model has a camera with 6x optical zoom
Reality: in fact, the iPhone 15 Pro Max received a telephoto module with 5x optical zoom
11. New button
Expectation: MacRumors resource reported that the iPhone 15 Pro will receive a new one Action button instead of the silent mode lever and named all the functions suitable for it
Reality: The iPhone 15 Pro does have a new one installed Action button instead of this lever, the list of functions corresponds to the above
12. Changed volume buttons.
Expectation: Insider Unknownz21 said that the buttons will be located as close to each other as possible, creating a uniform appearance.
Reality: In fact, the design of the display buttons has not changed. Perhaps this element decided to be postponed until the release of the iPhone 16.
13. More powerful charging.
Expectation: 9to5Mac’s source stated that Apple has increased the charging power of the iPhone 15 to 35W thanks to the USB-C port.
Reality: In reality, the iPhone 15 Pro uses charging with a maximum power of up to 27 W.
14. Enlarged battery.
Expectation: ITHome sources at the Foxconn plant said that all iPhone 15s will increase battery capacity by 20%
Reality: in fact, everything is completely different. There was practically no increase. What we have:

The biggest difference between the Pro Max models was 99 mAh.
15. Braided USB-C cable included.
Expectation: insider Majin Boo published photos of the braided USB-C/USB-C cable that will come with the iPhone 15
Reality: Apple really started putting braided USB-C/USB-C cables on all new iPhones
16. The cable length increases.
Expectation: Insiders Kosutami and Majin Boo stated that the length of the included cable is increasing from 1m to 1.5m.
Reality: the included cable for the iPhone 15 has become slightly shorter than the standard Lightning
17. The colors of the watch match the color of the iPhone case.
Expectation: insider Majin Bu published photos of new devices for the iPhone 15, the colors of which correspond to the colors of the smartphone case
Reality: in fact, the cables included with all models are white
18. Increased prices for iPhones.
Expectation: Barclays analysts said Apple has increased the prices of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max by $100 due to increased storage.
Reality: in fact, the price has increased by $100 only for the iPhone 15 Pro Max for the basic version, since it is equipped with 256 GB of memory instead of 128 GB in the minimum price.
19. Exclusive red color in iPhone 15 Pro.
Expectation: 9to5Mac reported that an exclusive dark red case will be available for the firmware.
Reality: In fact, the iPhone 15 Pro is released in four colors: beige, white, blue and black. Perhaps the red color of the body will be announced in the spring, as is usually the case.
20. Screen 6.2 inches
Expectation: 9to5Mac said the iPhone 15 display has been increased from 6.1 to 6.2 inches

21. RAM increases.
Expectation: TrendForce analysts claim that the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max will increase the amount of RAM from 6 to 8 GB
