Key features of Zorin OS 17 include an updated update based on GNOME 43 that features a quick settings menu, a new screenshot and screen recording experience, full GTK4 theming, updated power modes, an improved windowing experience, and an improved activity overview. Includes a desktop environment.

The system also includes an updated Zorin Apps menu that now offers universal search, and a new All Apps category to display all apps in alphabetical order.

For pro users, Zorin OS 17 introduces two new layouts in Zorin View that emulate the old GNOME 2 desktop environment or the Google Chrome OS desktop.

Performance has been improved for all versions and the minimum amount of system memory required has been reduced from 2 GB RAM to just 1.5 GB.

Zorin OS 17 is based on the Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish) operating system series, more specifically the Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS release. It runs on the Linux 6.2 kernel and Mesa 23.0 graphics stacks from Ubuntu 22.04.3 to support newer hardware.

The operating system can currently be downloaded from the official website in Core, Lite, Education and Pro versions.
