Debilitating attacks of dizziness that interfere with daily tasks may be associated with Meniere’s disease. Typically, these attacks are accompanied by nausea and vomiting, ear congestion, and hearing loss.
Inflammation of the inner ear nerve, known as vestibular neuritis, is another condition that can cause dizziness. Most often it is the result of a viral infection.
If the dizziness is not caused by any of the disorders already listed and lasts from a few minutes to several days and recurs repeatedly, then it is most likely related to vestibular migraine.
