ASML explained that States impose trade restrictions on equipment even if some of its components are manufactured in the United States. In this context, the Dutch government canceled some export licenses.

This could impact the market, given that China is the largest consumer of ASML products in the second half of 2023, accounting for 46% of all shipments. China has surpassed the other largest markets (Taiwan and South Korea).

ASML also hopes that business restrictions will not affect its finances.

“In recent discussions with the U.S. government, ASML has received further clarification on the scope and impact of U.S. export control regulations. ASML is fully committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations, including export control laws in the countries in which we operate,” he said.
