Rumor has it that Samsung would already be testing One UI 6.1 on several mobile phones

According to a tipster, Samsung has started testing One UI 6.1 on some devices. The first major update to the Android 14-based operating system will be tested on high-tech devices and foldable devices from the Galaxy family.

According to the tipster known as @tarunvats33 on X (formerly Twitter), Experimental builds of One UI 6.1 have been found for various devices.

The list includes the following mobile phones:

• Galaxy S23;
• Galaxy S22;
• Galaxy S21;
• Galaxy A54;
• Galaxy A34;
• Galaxy S21 FE;
• Galaxy Z Fold 4;
• Galaxy Z Fold 5;
• Galaxy Z Flip 4;
• Galaxy Z Flip 5.

It’s unclear how many users were selected for the testing period or whether the trial was limited to certain regions. In any case, this event is a good sign for those waiting for the first One UI 6 update.

What’s new in One UI 6.1?

For now, information about One UI 6.1 is limited. Rumors suggest that the update will focus on bringing AI features to devices, including AI-generated wallpapers, weather forecast effects for the lock screen, call translator, and AI editing tools.

Galaxy S24 will have One UI 6.1 by default

The launch of the Galaxy S24 series mobile phones will be held at the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 17 at 15.00.

If One UI 6.1 is indeed being tested, Samsung should also take advantage of the event to show off future news. It is expected that the top-tier products of 2024 will come with the new system, right out of the box.
