LCS is bearing the brunt of the workload: Internal memos leaked to Business Insider suggest that the latest round of layoffs is primarily targeting Google’s Large Account Sales (LCS) unit. The company confirmed this, saying that Google’s Customer Solutions (GCS) team, which focuses on smaller customers, will become the central ad sales unit.

Google says the changes are part of a regular annual review aimed at optimizing how it serves advertising customers. Spokesperson Chris Pappas emphasizes that the goal is to match customers with the most appropriate sales channels and teams. Affected employees will receive support, including the opportunity to apply for open positions at Google.
