At the end of January, Home Bank submitted three applications to Rospatent to register the brands “X Bank”, “X-Bank” and X-BANK, RB.RU reported.

“Home Bank” submitted several applications for registration of a short version of the name “X Bank”

Two versions of the name are written in Cyrillic, one with a space and the other with a hyphen. The third application contains Latin letters and a script. The three names are represented with the bank’s corporate color.

The press service of Home Bank informed RB.RU that the registration is carried out within the framework of the previously announced rebranding.

“We changed our name from Home Credit Bank to Home Bank in 2023. Along with the new brand “Home Bank”, we registered a number of sub-brands (“Home Express”, “Home Tech”, etc.) and a short name, the registration of which “It will allow, among other things, to ensure against the emergence of similar companies,” they said in the company, adding that this is a common practice.

The creative director of the Names Bureau, Vadim Dunaev, admits that new trademarks are registered “for prevention”: so that no one else uses a similar trademark. “But the name X-Bank seems much more modern and trendy than Home Bank.” By owning such a brand, it will be very difficult to refrain from truly becoming a “Bank

In June last year, the lender announced a large-scale update to its corporate style. That’s when the bank changed its name from “Home Credit” to “Home Bank” and announced the changes on the website and mobile app. ATM signage and design are scheduled to be replaced in the fourth quarter of 2023.
