Apple said the Bitrex-coated CR2032 lithium battery could cause problems when used in the AirTag. In fact, some devices do not work with such batteries. This makes the device potentially more dangerous for children.

Phonearena noted that the symptoms of swallowing such a battery are not always immediately obvious. Children may have trouble breathing or feel unwell. You may also notice obvious symptoms such as coughing or vomiting blood. If you suspect something, you should immediately take the child to the hospital.
