Analytics firm Omdia highlighted its Apple Vision Pro production levels.
The helmet’s hardware components cost the company $1,542. The most expensive component is the 1.25-inch OLED display; Apple uses two screens for the device.
According to Omdia, Apple pays $228 for each of these displays from Sony, and they cost $456 for a single headset.
The second most expensive components of the Vision Pro are two chips: the M2 and the all-new R1. Apple says the R1 is designed to process input from cameras, sensors and microphones, delivering images to displays within 12ms.
The stated amount does not include assembly, development, packaging or marketing. This is a small cost of manufacturing components for a helmet. [9to5]
