The “Figure” video, available on YouTube, shows a person interacting with a robot named “Figure 01” (pronounced “Figure One”). The person engages in a natural conversation with the robot, asking it to first identify what it is looking at.
“I see a red apple on a plate in the center of the table, a drying rack with cups and a plate, and you stand next to it with your hand on the table,” Figure 01 explains in a human tone.
The man asks for something to eat and Figure 01 gives him an apple. The person then throws trash into the environment and asks the robot to explain why it did what it did and also collects the trash.
“That’s why I gave you the apple because it was the only edible item I could offer you from the table,” Figure 01 says.
Finally, the person asks Figure 01 what to do next based on the placement of the plates on the table. The robot says that the next dish will most likely go to the dryer. The person verbally confirms the guess and asks Figure 01 to do just that, demonstrating incredible dexterity and precision by first lifting the cup and flipping it over before returning it to its place.
