Apple plans to integrate a chatbot into Google Gemini into the iPhone to solve some problems related to generative artificial intelligence, Bloomberg writes.
The company is currently preparing on this issue. Apple previously conducted a similar paper with OpenAI.
Apple plans to add many new features to iOS 18 under II. All of these improvements will be done on the device, not in the cloud. The company is now looking for a partner who can integrate functions into the iPhone for creating images based on text descriptions and writing texts using simple prompts.
If Apple and Google enter into an agreement, the Gemini chatbot will gain an advantage over its competitors. But the parties have not yet decided on the terms of the agreement, the brand and the topic of how AI will be integrated into the iPhone.
The evidence also shows that Apple is “not that far along” in its efforts to create its own artificial intelligence.
Early last year, Apple was testing a large generative AI codenamed Ajax. Some employees have already tested a chatbot called Apple GPT. But Apple’s technology still lags behind Google and other competitors.
There are also concerns that the new agreement between Apple and Google will attract the attention of regulators, both in the US and Europe. [Bloomberg]
