In desktop mode, application windows have a small handle that will open a menu when pressed. The menu will include the app’s name and icon, as well as three buttons to expand the window to full screen, split the screen, and switch to free window mode.
In free window mode, the application has a title with a name and icon, a drop-down menu for changing window mode, a maximize button, and a close button. The window can be moved and resized freely.
When you resize a window, its contents are temporarily hidden to make it easier to see. Windows can be dragged to the left or right edge of the screen to snap it to that half.
If you expand to full screen, you can drag the window from the top handle to quickly switch to free window or split screen mode.
The new desktop mode features in Android 15 will turn it into more of a PC interface, allowing users to work more efficiently on tablets and Chromebooks.
