Ozon doubled its turnover (GMV) in the fourth quarter of 2023, amounting to 625.7 billion rubles, according to market reports for 2023. Ozon’s revenue in 2023 grew to 424.2 billion rubles against to 277.1 billion rubles in 2022.

Adjusted EBITDA in the fourth quarter amounted to 100 million rubles, compared to 3.9 billion rubles in the same period of the previous year. The market also increased its revenue in the reporting period by 37% year-on-year, reaching 128 billion rubles.
As can be seen from the report, the company associates the growth of GMV with an increase in the number of orders and the average order volume. In the fourth quarter, their number increased to 326.6 million.
The report also indicated an increase to 46.1 million in the number of active buyers, which represented 31% in annual terms.
In addition, Ozon’s billing share reached 84.9% compared to 78.4% in the same period of the previous year.
The company explains the growth in revenue by an 8% increase in commission income, as well as an increase in advertising revenue up to 25 billion rubles (2.3 times). The report also notes a 13-fold increase in the company’s financial services, up to 6.7 billion rubles.
At the same time, the company’s operating expenses also increased – by 46% to 23.5 billion rubles. This is mainly due to the promotion of Ozon Fintech, Ozon Global and business development in the CIS, as well as increasing sales and marketing costs.
In the fourth quarter, the company recorded a net loss of 18.2 billion rubles. In the fourth quarter of 2022, the figure was 11.2 billion rubles.
