Roskomnadzor sent the foreign language learning service a warning about the ban on LGBT propaganda. RIA Novosti writes about this.
The agency also demanded that the service be reviewed for posts that promote LGBT people. Their presence constitutes a violation of the law under the article on propaganda of non-traditional relations, the sanction of which provides for the imposition of a fine of up to 4 million rubles.
Previously, human rights activists complained about Duolingo for the presence of questionable materials on the service. The social activists’ appeal cited excerpts from the service’s curriculum, where students were asked to say out loud the phrases “they are gay” and “lesbian bar.”
