Starting May 1, Russians will be able to transfer up to 30 million rubles per month between their accounts in different banks without commission through the SBP. Customers of 200 banks will be able to take advantage of this. This was stated to RIA Novosti by the head of the regional bloc of the Popular Front’s “For the Rights of Borrowers” project, Galaktion Kuchava.

Reminded of the limit for transfers to other people – 100 thousand rubles, above this amount a commission will be charged – 0.5% of the amount, but not more than 1.5 thousand rubles.
The agency’s interlocutor also highlighted that the increase in the limit applies only to transfers by telephone number and account number through the SBP. The new rules do not apply to transfers through a bank branch or via a card number.
In 2023, Russians used the SBP 7 billion times and transferred more than 27 trillion rubles, the Central Bank reported. Compared to 2022, the total number of transfers has doubled; Cash back programs have become an incentive for the system’s growing popularity.
