The Ministry of Industry and Trade invited companies to participate in another voluntary experiment: the labeling of edible products to combat illegal trafficking. This measure is proposed to be introduced in Russia from July 1, 2024; The project can be found on the official portal of regulatory legal acts.

If the proposal is accepted, it will be necessary to label vinegar, herbs and spices, sauces, chips and popcorn, snacks and croutons (except breadcrumbs) and other types of edible products.
Specific means of identification have not yet been approved, but it is already known that Operator-CRPT LLC has been appointed operator of the information system (the company will provide marking means free of charge to voluntary participants in the experiment).
The test project is expected to be completed by February 28, 2025.
Similar experiments by the Ministry of Industry and Trade have already affected some types of veterinary medicines (as of December 2023), preserves (from February 12 to August 31, 2024) and, as of December 1 of this year , labeling of canned fish will become mandatory.
