The story took place in August 2021 with Owain Davis, who, while relaxing with friends, decided to swim in the river. It was a small two-seater canoe and the phone was in the back pocket. At some point, his friend stood up and the canoe began to rock violently, after which, naturally, they turned around. The smartphone fell off the screen and went under water. Naturally, the owner was upset, because there were many pictures that he took during his vacation. He took a moral farewell to his favorite gadget and soon acquired a new one. But the stoy did not end there…
10 months later, a certain Miguel Pacheco, while canoeing with his family, saw something interesting in the water. Curiosity made the man swim over and when he picked up an unidentified object, he realized it was a smartphone. It was covered in mud and looked very bad, so no one had any special illusions.
However, Miguel thought that something important to the previous owner might remain in the memory of the smartphone. He took the phone home, cleaned it, turned it off with a compressed air compressor, and left the device overnight in the drying cabinet. In the morning, he connected the charger to the iPhone and was stunned: the smartphone started charging as if nothing had happened. And when Miguel turned it on, he saw the block page and a photo of the owner. The date displayed on the screen was August 13, which is exactly the day the device fell into the river.
Then there were many attempts to find the owner. We search through local groups and audiences, as well as social networks. The owner was found on one of the social networks, but has not logged into his account for more than 6 months. Soon the search was successful. One of the owner’s friends saw the ad and informed the owner of the smartphone. Davis was incredibly shocked at what happened and gladly retrieved the device from him. As a result, he was able to restore all the photos from that vacation, for which he was incredibly happy. He later said that he would hardly have done the same as Miguel and would not have dried his smartphone in his place, but would have simply taken him to the nearest pub.
