The Chinese TCL began producing televisions in two companies: Kvant and STI Group. The company has formalized its structure in Russia as a manufacturer.

In spring, the company’s Russian division, Tiesel Rus LLC, issued a document for TVs made at Kvant plants in Zelenograd and Voronezh. This is the first statement in which Tiesel Rus appears as a manufacturer and not an importer, as far as Kommersant has learned.
The expansion of TCL’s activities in the country is also evident in the vacancies on HeadHunter. The company is looking for logistics specialists “due to the growing volume of imports of components for the assembly of televisions.”
Localization, according to market participants, will affect only televisions with a diagonal of up to 55 inches, with the expectation of reducing the cost of budget models.
In April it became known about the company’s plans to open its own network of single-brand stores in Russia. Analysts then estimated the volume of investment in one place at approximately 10 million rubles.
Chinese brands have filled niches left by the exit of American and European companies, and have also displaced faltering Korean retailers, said independent analyst Sergei Vilyanov. According to experts, Chinese companies occupy 70% of the electronics market, depending on the segment.
