As the director of the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA), Andrei Melnikov, said in an interview with Izvestia, the organization expected claims related to portfolios worth around 9 million.
“But, interestingly, of those 9 million, only 50,000 applied for help and the average demand is only 8,000 rubles,” Melnikov clarified.
A meeting of creditors of the bank that has lost its license will be held on June 13 and the register of claims will be closed on June 19. The head of the ASB emphasized that applicants who did not apply will also be able to receive their payments, but after those who applied first.
Payments to creditors are scheduled to begin in July. They will be provided with funds in Qiwi accounts, amounting to 21 billion rubles.
“This will allow us to fully reimburse the first priority: individual depositors, the DIA, who paid insurance worth 1.4 million rubles, as well as 70% of third priority creditors, which include owners of electronic wallets,” said Andrei. Melnikov.
And in September it is planned to satisfy the demands of all creditors.
The Central Bank deprived Qiwi Bank of its license on February 21 and forced liquidation of the bank was introduced on April 10 at the request of the Central Bank, with the Deposit Insurance Agency being the liquidator.
