The explanatory note to the bill states that the interests of the entrepreneur are largely aimed at increasing the profitability of his enterprises, and this is “difficult to achieve without violating the material interests of employees.”

The document aims to guarantee that the right of all people to remuneration for work is respected without any discrimination and not less than the minimum wage established by federal law.

“The minimum wage for 2024 is set at 19.2 thousand rubles. Today this is the salary of approximately 5 million workers, mainly in the public sector. But personal income tax is also withheld from this money,” Yaroslav Nilov explained.

During the year, the minimum wage increased by 3 thousand rubles: from 16.2 thousand rubles to 19.2 thousand rubles. What does an increase in the indicator mean for companies? What changes should be made to the documents and what new calculations should employers make? Andrey Goloshchapov, general director of EUS, spoke about this here.
