MTS experts analyzed the sale of spare batteries in its own retail network.
According to the operator, in May, energy banks have demonstrated resilience over the past 4 years. Sales of such devices were down 10% compared to the same periods in previous years.
At the beginning of MTS, it is believed that the main growth factor was the holiday season. Demand for power banks begins to grow actively until December.
The most popular were MagSafe batteries. Their sales are up 98% compared to 2023. If in 2023 they accounted for less than 1% of sales of all power banks, now they account for 6%. This trend is expected to continue.
The VLP brand became the sales leader. The average price for batteries over the year increased by 16% to 1,641 rubles. This is due to the fact that buyers have begun to prefer higher quality devices from well-known brands.
The Akai brand was in greatest demand, it accounted for almost 40% of total unit sales (it was 28% a year ago). But the demand for powerful banks from Xiaomi decreased from 44% to 24%.

It is noted that the 5000 mAh power bank is popular. Customers increasingly prefer 10,000 mAh and 20,000 mAh capacities, which account for 87% of all sales.
