A Moscow court has placed three defendants in the mass poisoning case under house arrest.

Lozin, Mashkova and Normatov are accused of subsection “a” part 2 of article 238 of the Penal Code (production, storage, transportation or sale of goods and products, performance of work or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements). Shin – according to the same article and according to subsection “b” part 2 of article 322.1 of the Penal Code (organization of illegal migration).

According to investigators, the defendants, “by prior conspiracy, violating safety requirements,” produced at least 2.3 thousand servings of Lobio, which they packed in individual vacuum containers and sold through the Samokat service to an “unlimited circle of people”.

• On June 15, the first reports of poisoning and suspected botulism began to appear on Telegram channels. All victims ordered food “through delivery services”

• On June 18, the first arrests began in the case of a massive botulism outbreak in Moscow, and Rospotrebnadzor announced that it had identified the producers of salads poisoned by botulism.
• The Attorney General’s Office was also asked to monitor all manufacturers and sellers of prepared foods following mass poisonings. The State Duma does not rule out that many businessmen may commit violations.
