The application was discovered by Kommersant on AppStore and Google Play. Its developer is Kazakh Indels LLP, which also launched the Drivee app.
Revenue from the new service can be based on a 20-25% commission to drivers and passengers. Experts believe that the demand for ride-sharing is high due to the shortage of regular interregional routes.
According to them, Poputkee will face competition amid the revival of the Russian taxi aggregator market following the increase in Yandex rates.
Indels also controls Software Development Center LLC, which develops the Poputkee website. Previously, its beneficiary was the Cypriot Suol Innovations, led by inDrive founder Arsen Tomsky.
The inDrive ride-hailing service was launched in Yakutsk in 2012; The cost of the service is determined within the framework of an agreement between the passenger and the driver.
In 2022, inDrive ceased operations in the Russian Federation and transferred most of its assets to Kazakhstan, where the service initially developed its business since 2014. Tomsky said that Russia’s participation in inDrive’s business structure is small. But in the end, in spring 2023, the service was relaunched as Drivee.
