Scientists at the University of California, San Diego recommend that ChatGPT-4 is the first artificial intelligence (AI) to pass the Turing Test. It aims to demonstrate the ability of AI to imitate human intelligence.
In a test involving 500 people, ChatGPT-4 managed to fool people 54% of the time. People in the experiment communicated with three AI models (ChatGPT-4, ChatGPT-3.5, and the 1960s chat program ELIZA) and one human.
