As the retailer’s message states, a new-style supermarket has been opened as part of a large-scale redevelopment. By the end of the year, the company will renovate more than 120 stores in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod.

What changed

X5 points out that around 30% of the assortment is made up of the chain’s focal categories. These include vegetables and fruit, bakery products, fresh fish, ready meals and wines.

The new Perekrestok has a special area with products for healthy eating. It presents about 1,500 items, including 650 items of its own brand “Green Line”.

Coffee Select

The main innovation for the company is the launch of a cafeteria with its own brand of food. These cafes will be located in all supermarkets of the new concept.

The retailer’s press service says that the Select level corresponds to the Big Three fast-food restaurants. The cafeteria also has a “Mucho Salmón” module.

The company also changed the visual language of navigation through the hall and the principle of placement of the product areas. Many wooden elements have been introduced into the store interior. The updated Crossroads will also feature pet strollers.
