It turns out that it produced its impressive visuals using 150 NVIDIA RTX A6000 graphics accelerators. Sphere Studios is also responsible for the creation of the animation.
The animation’s resolution is 16K, and “three 16K layers at 60 fps” are required to produce a quality image.
Each RTX A6000 graphics accelerator has 10,752 processing cores and 48GB of video memory.
In total, that’s 1,612,800 cores and 7,200GB of GDDR6 memory, used for image streaming using the NVIDIA BlueField DPU, the ConnectX-6 DX NIC interface, and NVIDIA Rivermax software.
All of this allows us to ensure full synchronization of video across all Sphere displays.
Let us remind you that the Sphere project cost $ 2.3 billion and, according to PCGamer, consumed 28 Megawatts of energy.
