According to a survey conducted by AlfaStrakhovanie, 56.8% of Russians believe that using social networks, instant messengers and other digital platforms can be called addiction. It turned out that 98.4% of respondents constantly use instant messengers, 83.2% regularly access social networks and media. Most of the surveyed actively use online platforms for everything from taxis to deliveries, from shopping to consultations. For example, 34.5% want to get online consultations with doctors, and 18.2% use educational platforms.
Almost 90% of the respondents spend a lot of time on business and personal chats, and 81.3% check social networks twice a day or more. More than 71% of the respondents read news in electronic media at least twice a day. When it comes to shopping, 48.1% of the respondents often buy clothes online, 39.9% do grocery shopping, and 33.8% buy household chemicals. Most people use marketplaces 2-3 times a week.
The most popular entertainment services were movies (88.9%), music (86.5%), online games (71.2%) and electronic libraries (68.4%). Taxi services are used daily by 36.3% of respondents, and 29.5% 2-3 times a week. 76.2% of respondents participated in online learning in the past year. At the same time, only 2.8% of respondents said that they could easily give up most digital services, while 56.8% admitted that they are attached to online life. The rest try to distract themselves from the real world more often.
