The Russian government has established an experimental regime for allowing unmanned trams in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
The document also provides for the creation of training programs for test drivers and operators and the conduct of medical examinations in real time.
At the first stage, the trams will have to travel at least 3 thousand km, and then they will be able to transport passengers under the supervision of an operator in the cabin.
In Moscow, the launch of the driverless tram will take place in 2025, and in St. Petersburg – in 2026.
Driverless trams will be a problem for three years in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
Driverless trams are being introduced on the lines of St. Petersburg and Moscow as part of an experiment.
