Cybersecurity experts from Cybernews stumbled upon a database containing more than 18GB of logs generated by the application. The files found also contained more than 25 million records of device IDs, Play Service IDs, IP addresses, tokens. All of these can be used to identify users, the researchers said.
“The information contained in this database can be used to de-anonymize Bean VPN users and determine their approximate location,” said the Cybernews security expert. Said.
Bean VPN has over 50,000 downloads on the Google Play Store. It’s not in the App Store.
