On August 30, 2024, Tochka Bank for Entrepreneurs filed six claims against MTS subsidiary Russian Telephone Company JSC (RTK), as follows from the arbitration case file.

The company is demanding early termination of legal protection of the Tochka trademark in four classes of the international classification due to its lack of use. Two claims have already been accepted for consideration, and hearings are scheduled for October 7.
The court accused Rospatent as a third party. RTK’s right to use the trademark is valid until October 2027.
“According to our information, the company has not used these signs for a long time. In order to be able to freely use the Tochka brand, we were forced to go to court, as we were unable to find a solution to the situation during negotiations,” the press service of the financial organisation told Interfax.
MTS said that the trademarks are registered and used within the framework of the current legislation. The plaintiff requested the transfer of rights to these trademarks, but “unacceptable conditions were offered that violated RTK’s interests,” it added.
Tochka is a digital bank that provides financial and non-financial services to small and medium-sized businesses. In January 2023, the Central Bank granted the company a universal banking license.
